About the Organization
“Did you know that life has so much to offer?” ~ Bryan Totman
The Totman Strong 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was formed in memory of Bryan Totman, who excelled in and loved science and math, with a mission to give children educational opportunities who may have financial, social or other difficulties.
Proceeds from Bryan’s Ride will benefit children from local Maine communities.
The 1st year’s proceeds allowed us to send 5 children to the NASA Challenger Learning Center Summer Camp program that may not have had the opportunity otherwise. the 2nd Annual Bryan’s Ride exceeded our goal of doubling the first year, enabling us to provide 15 children the opportunity to attend the camp!
This year we hope to be able to fund at least the same.

Why the Challenger Program?
Bryan had the opportunity to attend the Challenger Center Astronaut program the week before he passed. Bryan loved space, science and math, and immensely enjoyed his week spent at the Challenger Center, and very excited to share his experiences there. We chose the Challenger Center in memory of Bryan’s love for science, math and space.
How can I help your organization?
Anyone can help us by simply sharing and attending events to help us get the word out and raise enough each year to give children the opportunity to experience what it is like to be an astronaut.
Donations can be made at any time via the donate area on the front of the site or checks can be mailed to Totman Strong, Inc., 369 Augusta Road, Belmont, Maine.
Just spreading the word and letting children and families know that this opportunity is out there is a tremendous help and costs nothing.
How are scholarships chosen?
Each year in January-February, the Challenger Center of Maine announces a request for nominations for the Totman Strong Scholarships.
Students are nominated by a teacher or staff member (librarian, secretary, administrator, etc.) via an online application.
All children entering 5th through 8th grade are eligible.
Contributions to Totman Strong, Inc. are deductible for federal income tax purposes as charitable contributions.
